Frequently asked questions about software development

What software does ebiscon build?

Apps for iOS and Android, native or hybrid. E-commerce systems on Shopware, including large and complex ones. Self-order terminals and platforms for the point of service. On top of that custom business applications and the interfaces to the systems a company already runs, so a new application does not create a second place where data lives.

Does ebiscon build native or hybrid apps?

Both, and the decision follows the requirements rather than a house opinion. Native when device features, background processes or a particular feel decide the case. Hybrid when one shared codebase for iOS and Android reaches the same result faster and cheaper. Both routes connect to the same backend systems.

What belongs to a terminal solution?

More than the screen where people choose, order and pay. It includes the concept, the platform behind the terminal, as a white label for several brands where that is wanted, hardware integration for printer, scanner and payment terminal, the connection to the till and to inventory, testing, rollout across locations, operation and monitoring. And the question of what the terminal does when the connection drops.

Does ebiscon build larger shop systems?

Yes, that is the normal case. As a Shopware Silver Partner we build shops with large catalogues, B2B pricing and permission logic, several languages and markets and connections to ERP, CRM and PIM. One example from practice: a shop that keeps over 200,000 products in sync with ERP and CRM. Which platform fits your case is part of the consulting.

How is an app connected to ERP or CRM?

Over the ebiscon integration platform or over an interface built for the purpose, depending on how many systems are involved. In both cases the app talks to one stable interface and does not know what sits behind it. A change in the backend therefore does not mean a new app release.

What does custom software development cost?

The price is set by the scope of the features, for an app by the choice between native and hybrid, by the number of systems to connect, by the requirements for design and accessibility and by whether it ends at release or includes operation, store releases and further development. We cut the project down to a first usable version and quote on that.

Which companies does ebiscon work for?

Any industry. What decides a project is the systems that need connecting and the processes behind them, not the industry a company is in. ERP, CRM, PIM, shop, till and payment providers follow the same rules everywhere, and that is what our platform is built for. Our offices are in Cologne and Athens, and we work for customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Greece.
